The word "blog" is sooooooooo blaaaaaaaaah.
Now, “storytelling” is something I can slurp up like a good bowl of hot soup!

Its rich history, dating back to ancient times, culture and life were told through cave paintings, hieroglyphics, dance, and song. Evolution brought us the oral tradition, tales shared from generation to generation to keep what is meaningful alive.

My favorite part of elementary school was circling up on the rug for story time, right?!
Or how about the joy when someone would read us a book?!  It would seem that we are almost genetically programmed for it.  And I believe storytelling is THE universal human connector.  It can bridge gaps to bring people together to somehow make the world a brighter space.  And let’s face it, when you find your people, it can set your soul on fire!

This is my campfire, pull up a log, grab a cuppa tea, and visit here often to hear my tales!

Wander & Wonder: Long Beach Island ~ My Heart's Home Down the Jersey Shore

Wander & Wonder: Long Beach Island ~ My Heart's Home Down the Jersey Shore
The Jersey Shore has long been an iconic escape — a place where generations flock to sun-soaked beaches, salty breezes and the timeless rhythm of waves meeting the shore.  It’s a stretch of coastline that carries the scent of Coppertone and the sound of seagulls in its very soul.  And while there are many beloved spots along the Shore, for me, Long Beach Island — affectionately known as LBI — has always felt like coming home.

From the very first time my tiny toes touched the sand in Surf City, something clicked.  As a little girl, I visited with my family and drank in the magic of summer: mini golf at twilight, the snapping of beach towels drying on a sunny clothes line and the ritual of rinsing off in the outdoor shower as the sky turned pink.  The simplicity of those early days lives in my memory like a sun-warmed Polaroid.

As a teenager, I returned — this time with my best friend’s family.  We devoured books together, taking turns reading chapters (yes, we actually read "Jaws" sitting on the beach!).  Our favorite lunch was English muffins smeared with peanut butter and jelly or “oodles of noodles” and  summer thunderstorms became a cherished tradition. We’d sit on the porch, watching the sky crack open, wrapped in Ron Jon's hoodies and teenage dreams.

In my twenties, Ship Bottom called.  The energy shifted — buzzing with beach town flirtation and freedom.  We cruised the main drag, blasted music and danced our hearts out at Joe Pop’s, especially when The Nerds were on stage.  Those nights shimmer in my memory like beach glass — colorful, unpredictable and absolutely treasured.

But now?  Now my soul belongs to Barnegat Light.  It’s quieter there, slower.  The kind of place where peace seeps into your bones.  I’m grateful to dear friends who welcome me into their family home, where time is gently marked by the path of the sun — rising over the dunes, painting the sky in promise; high above as I watercolor on the deck, brush in hand and breeze in my hair; and finally, setting in a blaze of color watched from the rooftop, a toast in hand and gratitude in my heart. The rhythm of the waves, the call of the gulls, the laughter shared with soul friends—this is my definition of heaven.

Places We Love to Visit on LBI:
  • 🧭 Barnegat Lighthouse State Park – An easy, breezy bike ride to the north end rewards you with sweeping views and a gentle climb up “Old Barney,” the historic lighthouse that has guided mariners since 1859.  Take some time to thank and chat with the Park Rangers, they are a wealth of information!
  • 🛍️ Peddler’s Village – A charming collection of little shops full of curiosities, antiques, handmade goods and that special something you didn’t know you needed.
  • Jen’s Links at Lighthouse Cove – This mini golf course is a work of art, beautifully landscaped with ocean views and a playful challenge for all ages.
Favorite Eats:
  • 🍸 Daymark – With a modern coastal vibe, Daymark brings together delicious cocktails, local oysters and a lively atmosphere where bartenders greet you like old friends.  The live music is top notch and adds just the right jooj to the energy!
  • 🍔 Kubel’s – Open since 1927, this classic NJ spot has stood the test of time, serving up hearty pub fare, cold drinks and views of the bay that always invite you to linger just a little longer.
But my very favorite part?

My people.

Laughing over coffee, sharing sunset snacks on the roof, welcoming a new friend into the fold.  LBI is where old memories are polished and new ones are born.  It’s where I return again and again — because every grain of sand, every breeze off the bay, whispers: you are home.

Wander & Wonder: Discovering Wellness in the Heart of Quebec ~ Siberia Spa

Wander & Wonder: Discovering Wellness in the Heart of Quebec ~ Siberia Spa
Welcome to Wander & Wonder, the first installment of my travel series celebrating magical destinations that invite us to reconnect with nature, ourselves and the joy of play.  For this inaugural adventure, I couldn’t think of a better place than the enchanting Sibéria Spa in Notre-Dame-du-Carmel, Quebec, Canada — a haven where the wilderness cradles your soul and well-being takes center stage.  This serene destination came highly recommended by Mike, the affable manager of Inox Brewery in Quebec City — one of our favorite stops during our New Year’s trip and a perfect spot to toast to new adventures!

Founded in 2005 by visionaries Julie Panneton and Michel Carrier, Sibéria Spa is more than a destination — it’s a heartfelt philosophy.  Their guiding beliefs align beautifully with Come Play Outside: every person is unique, every day a miracle and nature a powerful healer.  At Sibéria, the surrounding forest is both a sanctuary and a source of magic, offering profound care for every soul who visits.

My husband and I visited on a rainy day — a fitting choice since we were getting wet anyway!  Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly, given a tour and the most luxious robe I have ever worn and introduced to their suggested routine:  Hot, Cold, Rest.

  • Hot: We melted into whirlpool tubs, dry saunas, wet steamroom and cozy glass huts with fireplaces and comfy chairs.
  • Cold:  Braving the cold pools and even the river (yes, THE RIVER!) was a heart-pounding highlight. Moving chunks of ice to dip into the frigid water was exhilarating. If you’ve never tried cold therapy, I highly recommend it (though check with your doctor first if you have health concerns). Initially, the icy plunge left us gasping, but emerging brought waves of pins and needles followed by an indescribable euphoria.
  • Rest: Bundled in those heavenly robes, we nestled by the fire pit, basking in post-plunge bliss. The yurt, complete with a wood stove and swinging chairs, was a favorite retreat. The Sibéria Café also offered the perfect spot to rest and refuel. We savored Broccoli Parmesan Soup, toast and a glass of rosé — a simple but soul-nourishing meal that perfectly complemented the experience.

Pro Tips for Your Visit

  • Bathing Suit & Flip Flops: Both are required, so don’t forget to pack them!  However, if you happen to forget your flippies, there are some you can purchase.
  • Zones:  Choose between Whisper and Silence.  We opted for Silence, and the freedom from conversation was surprisingly liberating, but know you can back and forth between both!
  • Phones:  If you choose to bring your phone with you to take some fun photos, put it on airplane mode. Trust me — you won’t have to embarrassingly remove yourself from one of the silent huts if it starts buzzing!
  • Locker Rooms:  Go minimal — it’s a snug space.  They have showers, blow dryers and even bags to bring your wet suits home.
  • Reservations: Highly recommended as they limit the number of guests. If they’re full, ask to get on the waiting list. Even over New Year’s, we got in!
Sibéria Spa isn’t just a place — it’s a practice in presence, a celebration of life and an invitation to play with the elements of nature.  Stay tuned for more Wander & Wonder adventures, where we’ll uncover destinations that inspire the magic of Come Play Outside.

Would you try a cold plunge in the river?  Let me know in the comments!

Beauty in all Seasons

When I see leaves dancing merrily to the ground, I can literally feel their relief of a life well-lived.  While I imagine their excitement in Spring to be born to such a beautiful world, their reaching up to the sun to fuel their growth, their glee in a summer rain shower after a hot day… I also imagine how much they wanted to feel the stillness of the earth and how they longed to experience the softness of the grass.

What is the 14-Day Reset?

The 14-Day Reset is an ongoing, monthly program that is available FREE to all Young Living members. I was at my heaviest weight after having my 2nd baby in 2018. Over time, I was able to lose some of the excess weight but getting rid of those last 15-20 pounds was so dang hard for me. I hit a plateau and nothing that I tried worked. Then I saw the amazing results some of my friends were having by focusing on reversing inflammation in the body which ultimately led me to THE 14-DAY RESET!
